    Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    Sunday, noon - 5 p.m.

Weekday afternoons are the least crowded. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Admission

Purchase tickets online, at the Admissions Desk, or by telephone (214) 200-4306. Each ticket admits one visitor into all permanent and special exhibits, and includes a handheld audio guide and all special Library and Museum programming on the day of attendance. Directions, Parking & Public Transportation

Located on the campus of Southern Methodist University, the physical address is 2943 SMU Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75205. Parking, including handicap parking, is available in the parking lot immediately across from the entrance on SMU Blvd. The Museum is also accessible using the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) System using the Orange, Red, or Blue lines.

Security Check

To make your experience safe and enjoyable, be prepared for the Security Check. The Bush Presidential Library is a U.S. Federal agency; weapons are not allowed. Upon entry, all visitors must pass through a security check with a metal detector. All weapons, including guns, knives, multipurpose tools, and stun-guns, will be confiscated and not returned. All bags are X-rayed, and possibly, searched. Bags larger than 19" tall x 10" wide x 9" deep must be stored in the coat room. Ask a Docent (volunteer guide) for assistance.

Accessibility 

  • For a sign language interpreter, email Bush43Visitors@nara.gov at least 2 weeks prior to your visit.
  • The Museum is fully accessible according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Handicap parking spaces are located in the parking lot immediately across from the entrance on SMU Blvd.
  • Wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask a Docent (volunteer guide) for assistance.
  • Wheelchairs cannot leave the Museum's secure area. They may not be taken to Cafe 43, the Museum Store, to the street for pick-up or drop-off, or to the Freedom Plaza fountain.
  • Motorized scooters are allowed.
  • Video presentations are closed-captioned for the hearing impaired.
  • Only animals defined by the ADA as Service Animals are allowed into the Museum.
  • Pets are not allowed.

Photography 

Flash photography is prohibited in most areas of the Museum. Ask a Docent (volunteer guide) if there are photography restrictions in the special exhibits. 

Self Guide 

Handheld audio guides are included in the admission price. Check out the Bush Center’s Mobile App, with information about the Museum galleries, films, and video and audio tours, prior to visiting the Museum.

Younger Visitors

Visitors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult at all times. Chaperones must remain with younger visitors when in the exhibit galleries, classroom, Cafe43, the courtyard, and the gift store, as well as when on the Bush Center grounds.

Dining

There are two restaurants at the Bush Center: Cafe 43 and the Courtyard Cafe. Visitors may also picnic in the Native Texas Park. Food and beverages, including candy, gum, and water bottles, are prohibited in the Museum.

Cafe 43
A full service restaurant featuring seasonal, locally-sourced menu items is located near the main entrance to the Museum. Dining in Cafe 43 does not require admission to the Museum. Reservations are recommended; use Open Table or call 214-200-4302.

Courtyard Cafe
Located in the Ceremonial Courtyard with outdoor seating only, the Courtyard Cafe offers daily specials, soups, salads, sandwiches, and beverages.

    Sunday, noon - 5 p.m.

Museum Store 

The Bush Center Museum Store offers memorabilia, apparel, and gifts. For details, call 214-200-4304.

Native Texas Park

Located on the grounds of the Bush Center, this 15-acre urban park is free and open to the public every day of the year, from sunrise to sunset. Self-guided tours with a Landscape Education Map and Guide are available.
